Flatworms

What are flatworms?

A worm of a phylum (Platyhelminthes) that includes the free-living, which means nonparasitic, planarians (Turbellaria) together with the parasitic flukes (Trematoda) and tapeworms (Cestoda). They are distinguished by having a simple flattened body that lacks blood vessels, and a digestive tract that, if present, has a single opening. A flatworm also has bilateral symmetry, meaning the right half of a flatworm is exactly like the left half. Humans also have bilateral symmetry.

A flatworm is a hermaphrodite . This means they have both neccessary female and male organs in order to reproduce. This is in all flatworms, and is not found in just one species. This is a very crucial necessity flatworms need to reproduce.
